Description
Step By Step
- Get an impression from the arch to be whitened, using molding materials. Fill the arch’s mold with gypsum. We recommend mixing 10 to 20% gypsum of special type, to obtain a more resistant model.
- With the gypsum model, we suggest wearing the gypsum’s area corresponding to the palate at the upper arch, for better adjustment of the plate to the model.
- Lock the plate into the vacuum-molding machine, place the gypsum model centralized under the plate, and start the equipment to begin heating the plate. As soon as the plate shows a small bending (2 to 3 cm), attesting its softening, lower it quickly over the model, and on the vacuum for 10 to 15 seconds. The plate should adjust to the contour of the model, mainly at the borders next to the gums, as at this point it shall form a retention border of the gel into the mold. The removal of the plate must be made after it has cooled down completely.
- After removing the mold from the model, cut it without burrs and to cover 1 to 2 mm of the gums margin.
- Keep the mold over the model until it is delivered to the patient and warn them about the need to wash it prior to using it.
